Reading Habits

No one is born Knowing how to read. We all have to learn how.

When you read, your brain has to do a lot of things at once. It has to connect letters with sounds and put those sounds together in the right order.

Generally, people’s reading habits may evolve over time due to various factors such as personal interests, availability of content, and cultural influences. For me, I enjoy reading fiction and poetry in both Spanish and English, though the specific genres and authors may differ. I tend to choose similar kinds of texts in each language based on my mood and interests at the time. Factors like convenience and availability often determine whether I read in paper format, on an e-reader, or online. As for timing, I usually read in the evening or before bed to unwind.

Teaching with Songs

Teaching with Songs is organised into two categories according to whether they have been chosen to present ,or further revise ,a point of Grammar or Vocabulary or because , at that time ,my students or myself fancied the song.

They have also  been awarded  “hearts” according to the difficulty of the song or the proposed activity, being Five Hearts the maximun difficulty.

Bear in mind that most videos have been embedded form Youtube so they might be no longer available.(though , I bet it won’t be difficult to find them again)

This is me!

 Hi

I’m Cristina. I am an English teacher working at IE Nicolás Salmerón y Alonso (Almería) and this is my blog. Thanks for being here.

The activities I love to create are those where students take an active role in their learning process. My approach focuses not only on teaching grammar and vocabulary, but also on cultivating my students' communication skills so that they can express themselves confidently and fluently.

I firmly believe in the importance of creating an inclusive and motivating learning environment. I encourage active participation in the classroom and use innovative pedagogical methods to keep students engaged and excited about learning English. Additionally, I creatively integrate technology to enrich lessons and make them more relevant to students' everyday lives.
